In a growing movement toward finding solutions to homelessness in Southern Colorado, many local leaders have traveled to other communities across the nation to learn from programs showing success. One of the cities creating a buzz is Salt Lake City.
Outside a shelter man named Larry who says he is homeless but working hard to get his life back together says it is very difficult. He is positive about the help he is getting at The Road Home, a resource for the homeless in Salt Lake. "You feel trapped by your decisions that you've already made,” said Larry, “They help you not feel that way. They give you opportunity."
Homeless advocates make it clear they are still chipping away at the issue. Still, the community has made advances in reducing a large number of people on the streets in the specific area of chronically homeless.
