Pueblo police issue home safety warning

Posted: Updated:

The Pueblo Police Department issued a home safety warning after a female was seen knocking on doors late at night.  During Pueblo's most recent crime seminar officers heard reports from multiple residents receiving late night knocks on their door from the woman.  The woman would tell residents that she was in need of a phone or a ride.  One resident even told police that he peeked out his window to see what the woman wanted, he also saw a vehicle with two occupants just down the block.  Pueblo police warn citizens to never open their door for these late night contacts, instead they urge you to call the police department.  If you do decide to address a person knocking police advise you to do it through a locked door or storm door.   Do not give them an opportunity to push their way in. Advise them you have called the police to help them. If anyone has any information regarding the identity if this suspicious person, you are urged to submit your tip to Pueblo Crime Stoppers.
