Your Healthy Family: Allergy season in full swing

Posted: Updated:
COLORADO SPRINGS -

If you feel like your allergies are kicking in, you're not alone.
Spring is almost here, and local doctors say they're already seeing patients coming in with severe allergies.
Some of the symptoms include itchy and watery eyes with a runny nose.
You might develop a bad cough with some sinus pain and congestion as well.
It's certainly hard to avoid getting allergies when you live somewhere like Colorado.
"We see lots of tree, grass, wheat pollens causing allergies, sometimes pet dander also causes allergies, so right now we have lots of trees blowing in the air, and that's typically what we see patients coming in with," said Sarah Christensen, Physician's Assistant at Storms Allergy Clinic.
To protect yourself, you can use over the counter drugs or use nasal sprays.
If you try these medications and still have bad symptoms, you should go see your doctor.
