50 people to become American citizens today

Immigration Judge Melanie Corrin will administer the Oath of Allegiance Wednesday to 50 people who will become U.S. Citizens.

According to U.S. Citizen and Immigration Services, the  50 citizenship candidates originate from the following 26 countries: Australia, Bhutan, Bulgaria, Canada, People's Republic of China, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guatemala, India, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Kazakhstan, Liberia, Macedonia, Mexico, Moldova, Peru, Philippines, Russia, South Africa, Thailand, United Kingdom, Venezuela and Vietnam.

The candidates live in Arvada, Aurora, Brighton, Broomfield, Colorado Springs, Commerce City, Denver, Englewood, Fort Collins, Lakewood, Northglenn, Thornton, Westminster and Wheat Ridge and some of their professions include business owners and managers, nurse assistant, IT, doctor of research at the University of Colorado Boulder, doctor of geological engineering at the Colorado School of Mines, plumber, locksmith, sous chef, software developer project manager, acupuncturist, carpenter and sales.

Wednesday's ceremony is scheduled for 1:30PM at History Center Colorado, 1200 Broadway, Denver.
