Snow moves out of Denver, wind reducing visibility on Plains

Posted: Updated:
DENVER (AP) -

A winter storm hasn't brought that much snow to Denver and the Eastern Plains but strong winds and icy roads are causing problems in some spots.

The snow stopped falling in Denver Wednesday morning but conditions were worse on the Plains, where wind gusts are reducing visibility.

The FAA, meanwhile, temporarily slowed morning flights into Denver's airport to spread out traffic, but no significant delays are being reported now. About 2 inches fell at the airport but not much of the wet snow accumulated downtown.

Up to 12 inches of new snow have been reported in the mountains, just in time for the opening of Copper Mountain ski resort.
