Posted: Updated:
(KUSA) -

It's always a race in Colorado to see which ski area will open first. Copper and Keystone announced early November openings, but Loveland and Arapahoe Basin have yet to set a firm date. Here is a roundup of 2015 Colorado ski area openings:

Loveland – Mid-Oct.

Loveland says they are aiming for a mid-October opening. But, they said they won't know until the last minute and are likely to make the opening announcement with only a few days notice.

Arapahoe Basin – Mid to late October

Arapahoe Basin won't give a firm date on when they expect to open. They said they "go with what Mother Nature dictates" and don't wait for an "arbitrary date" to open. They say as soon as they have a skiable base they will open and will spread the word.

Copper Mountain – Nov. 6

Keystone Mountain – Nov. 6

Keystone will be the first of the Colorado Vail Resorts to open. They have yet to start making snow, but say they will do so as soon as temperatures permit.

Breckenridge – Nov. 13

Winter Park – Nov. 18

Vail – Nov. 20

Beaver Creek – Nov. 25

Aspen Mountain – Nov. 26

Telluride – Nov. 26

Snowmass Mountain – Nov. 26

Aspen Highlands – Dec. 12
