DENVER (KUSA) -
Denver Police arrested four men for allegedly kidnapping four women, assaulting them and holding them hostage in a Denver neighborhood.
According to our Denver news partners 9News, a neighbor of one of the suspects said he couldn't believe four women were held against their will in a garage next to his house on the 500 block of South Eliot Street, off Federal Boulevard.
According to the arrest affidavit, Steven Hillen, Pedro Valdez, Juvenal Tamayo and Edgar Barroso were arrested for assault, menacing and kidnapping.
One of the unnamed victims told police she was kidnapped in front of the Breakfast King restaurant, forced to strip down to her underwear, made to use methamphetamine, was duct taped and threatened with a handgun.
"The details of this case are disturbing. No question. Fortunately we were able to get all of the suspects in this case into custody and we've been providing the support that we're able to in the victims in this case," said Doug Schepman, a Denver Police spokesperson.
The police affidavit also said one of the four victims was let go and she went to Denver Health Medical Center saying she's been assaulted. That led authorities to force their way in to the garage where the women were found along with drugs and guns.
Officials have not confirmed if the women are adults or juveniles. Sex crimes unit investigators are looking into what happened. The district attorney could add charges of sexual assault on top of the pending kidnapping, menacing and assault charges.
