PUEBLO - A neighbor in a Pueblo residential area grabbed a fire extinguisher and broke into a house along Fremont Avenue after he saw a fire.

Thomas Ornelas, a neighbor, went into the home with a fire extinguisher and began to spray the wall that was on fire. Another neighbor joined him in the firefight. The other neighbor sprayed the exterior with a hose. Ornelas said he left after the smoke got too thick.

The fire department says the fire could have been worse if the neighbors did not help.

The fire is under control and the cause is under investigation.
