Fire at a Peak Internet network facility may slow internet access for Pikes Peak customers
WOODLAND PARK -
Peak Internet says customers may have "reduced network performance" because of a network facility site fire.
On their Facebook page, Peak Internet says that the site is expected to be a total loss and that losing this site can cause a reduced network performance.
Their network facilities do have backup paths, but these paths could become "overloaded." The company says they expect to restore network access within the next few days. Their staff is working to fix the issue.
The fire broke out at around 1:40 a.m. on Sunday. They asked their customers to help them by avoiding excessive usage, like streaming video.
