Teachers First

In certain precious moments we all think back to a special moment spent in school. The sound of a hundred voices in the hallway, the echo of the gymnasium, the moments frozen in time when friend bonded with friend. And entwined in those moments are memories of teachers, who ruled, cajoled, entertained, and made a difference in our lives.

"The first duty of a lecturer--to hand you after an hour's discourse a nugget of pure truth to wrap up between the pages of your notebooks and keep on the mantelpiece forever."
- Virginia Woolf, 1929

"A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops."
-Henry Adams, 1907

To highlight the positive stories and outcomes that are happening in Southern Colorado classrooms every day, KOAA 5 presents Teachers First.

Teachers First is a monthly award recognizing educators who inspire students to learn and become successful members of society. One person a month, from September through May, will be chosen to receive the Teachers First Award. Let's honor the best of our teachers!
