Zoo offers lower admission to military families

Local members of the military and their families can visit the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo next month at a deep discount during Military Appreciation Week.

From September 10-16, zoo admission will cost just $5.25 per person for all active duty and retired military members and their family. The discount is $6.00 less than regular military rates and $8.00 less than general admission.

All that it is required to receive the discount is to simply present a valid military ID at any of the admissions booths.

"It's one small way we can recognize how much we appreciate the many military families in our community making such huge sacrifices on the public's behalf," said Cheyenne Mountain Zoo President Bob Chastain.

"It's an excellent opportunity to give them a chance to gather as a family and spend some quality time together while experiencing the natural world."

The zoo's Military Appreciation Week is sponsored by Toyota of Colorado Springs, Liberty Toyota, Ent, and Colorado Springs Pediatric Dentistry.
