A special edition of Your Healthy Family: Clean Eating.
It's become a popular way of living for some people- as they avoid eating as much processed food as possible.
News 5's Annie Snead explores the "diet" and why people are choosing to eat clean.
"When you look at the ingredient labels on things and you don't even understand what they say..that's that's awful," said Lindsey Aparicio.
You might say she has been eating extremely clean for years..
Raising chickens, goats and produce, she rarely buys things from the grocery store.
"I know exactly what's going into my food," she said. "It wasn't until later I've learned that we're actually doing something that's this fad," said Aparicio.
Lindsey says her family didn't start out for health reasons..they just wanted to know where their food was coming from.
"But because we've been eating this way now for quite a long time, when we go to a restaurant just eat whatever is at the restaurant, we don't feel as good afterwards," she said.

Karen Beers is a clinical dietician at Memorial Hospital.
She says "clean eating" is a good choice for many because you're getting a good variety of foods.
"Clean eating doesn't really restrict any particular type of food other than you're just trying to get rid of extra chemicals and preservatives that are in your food..you can still have a variety of foods but it's more likely to be homemade, rather than something you buy at the store," said Beers.
To eat clean: Avoid most things that come in boxes or packages and focus on the perimeter of the grocery store, staying away from the frozen aisle.
"I think we're seeing a resurgence, over the last 50 years or so, since convenience foods have been popular, I think we've seen a huge increase in problems with our health - obesity and things like that, and I think a lot of people are trying to get back to when people were healthier," Beers said.
The few downsides include extra planning and it can cost more, at least initially.
"But you may be cutting down your health care costs as well," Beers added.
And even if you can't grow your own food like Lindsey Aparicio.
"Farmers markets are a great place to start, we'll be having farmers market season start up pretty soon and so going to the farmers market and getting foods there, is a great way to make those changes as well," Beers said.
"Do what you believe is right and do what makes you feel good and listen to your body," Aparicio added.
If you'd like to start - experts say setting up a meal plan is one of the best things you can do.
Then you know what you're making each day and can have preparations done sunday night.
