A young artist is honored right in front of the mural she designed.

Jolene Norton is a high school freshman in Pueblo who won a poster contest through the Colorado Meth Project.

Several in the community decided to turn Norton's winning poster into a mural on the levee in Pueblo near Santa Fe Avenue.

"Wow, it was such a big change," said Norton. "I did it on a regular poster board size. No one really thinks about when they do a regular poster board that it's going to be on the levee. This is 45 by 50 feet."

It took ten people ages 14 to 22 ten hours to complete the mural this past weekend.

A reception was held Monday in honor of the mural.
