The YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region may take over management of 6 Springs acquatic facilities.

The Parks and Recreation Department will present the proposal to the City Council at a meeting March 12. The council will vote on the agreement March 13 at the formal council session.

"We are thrilled with the potential of a partnership with the YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region moving forward with City Council's approval," says City Chief of Staff Laura Neumann in a press release. "The City has a great history of working with the YMCA, and we optimistically look forward to being able to open our swimming pools again for the benefit of our entire community."

Under the proposal pool facilities would open May 28.

Facilities included are Cottonwood Creek Recreation Center, Aquatics and Fitness Center at Memorial Park, Portal Pool, Wilson Ranch Pool, Monument Valley Pool, and Prospect Lake Beach.

City will maintain ownership of all sites and the YMCA will manage and operate the City's aquatic facilities including all programming.
