Would-be burglar will be charged

A man who was stabbed after breaking into a Colorado Springs apartment will be charged with burglary and aggravated robbery once he is released from the hospital. A news release from the Colorado Springs Police Department states Corey Mosely, 33, is suspected of entering the apartment in the 900 block of Mt. Werner Circle Tuesday morning with a gun.

Jasmin Coblentz told News 5 on Tuesday that she had been the one who stabbed Mosely with a kitchen knife during a scuffle that took place just as he stepped into the apartment.

The front door had been left open and Coblentz said when Mosely came in he yelled and hit her brother-in-law in the face with the gun. That's when her husband, who was standing in the kitchen, rushed over and pinned Mosely with the door causing him to drop the gun.

Coblentz's 3 year old niece was also in the room as the fight was happening.

When he was subdued, Coblentz said Mosely told them he knew who had set them up. He left and then collapsed on the lawn a short distance from the apartment. He was taken to Memorial Hospital where he was last listed in serious condition.
