World Championship Volleyball qualifying in Colorado Springs Thursday-Sunday

If you like hard-hitting volleyball action, Colorado Springs is the place to be this week.

USA Volleyball is hosting NORCECA World Championship qualifying play this week at the Olympic Training Center. NORCECA makes up teams from North America, Central America, and the Caribbean. The USA men are ranked fourth in the world. The women are second. Both teams are favorites to win this week and qualify for the World Championships.

"I think it's a huge honor to come here and represent USA and the national team players," said Team USA outside hitter Kelly Reeves. "It's just a great opportunity to come here and play these teams and give them a good fight."

"We're definitely here to win this thing," said Team USA setter Molly Kreklow. "Obviously having fun and getting experience comes with that. I think our goal is definitely winning. We're just trying to play the best we can and get better every day."

The women play at 3 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. The men play at 7 p.m. on those same days. Championship play is on Sunday. Tickets are cheap--only ten bucks per day.
