SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) - Agnes Zawadzki sure knows how to steal the show, beating out three former national champions to win the short program Thursday night at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships.

Zawadzki, who won the U.S. junior title in 2010 and has medals from the last two junior world championships, skated flawlessly while the rest of the top women faltered. Her score of 66.24 is more than three points ahead of defending champ Alissa Czisny going into the free skate Saturday night.

Ashley Wagner is third.

Mirai Nagasu, the 2008 U.S. champ, is fifth after botching her opening jump. Rachael Flatt, the 2010 winner, is way down in ninth.
