Woman rescued from Fountain Creek

Fountain Fire Department made an early morning rescue from Fountain Creek near Southmoor Drive after woman went hiking on a popular trail along the creek. Fountain FD received a call for a rescue of a woman who fell into the creek around 7:15 am.

The victim had been hiking along a local trail and ventured onto rocks which became slick due to rain, when she fell into the creek. She sustained an injury that prevented her from climbing out of the creek bed so she called 911 on her cell phone for help.

Crews responded and had to use ropes to rescue the woman from the creek after which she was transported to a local hospital for treatment from her injuries. Southmoor was closed for a short period as the rescue efforts were underway.
