Woman charged with bigamy pleads guilty to different charge

A Peyton woman charged with being married to two men at once has pleaded guilty to forgery.

The Gazette reports Tammy Ann Patton agreed to plead guilty to the forgery charge in exchange for prosecutors dropping the bigamy charge.  Patton will also plead guilty to misdemeanor animal cruelty.

Patton's first husband, a Fort Carson soldier says Patton married another soldier while he was serving in Iraq.  Sentencing is set for next month.
