Woman attacked, police ask for help finding suspect

Colorado Springs police are looking for a man they say punched a woman in the face and stole her purse.

Saturday morning around 7 a.m. a 22 -year-old woman was walking to the second floor at the La Quinta Inn at 4385 Sinton Road, according to a release from Colorado Springs police.  A man approached the woman and punched her in the face, causing a large gash on her forehead. The man grabbed the woman's purse and ran to a red Dodge Dakota truck in the parking lot. Witnesses saw the man running to the truck and got the license plate number.

Colorado Springs police say the owner of the truck is their suspect; 24-year-old Andrew LaFore faces a possible robbery charge.

Police describe LaFore as a white male, 5'8" tall, 160 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. LaFore's truck is a red 1997 Dodge Dakota with Colorado plate 448-UOF. If you have any information about the crime or LaFore, please call Colorado Springs police (444-7000).
