Wisconsin shuts out Colorado College 4-0

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - Derek Stepan had a goal and two assists and Scott Gudmandson had 35 saves to lead third-ranked Wisconsin to a 4-0 win over struggling Colorado College Friday in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.

The Badgers (13-5-3, 9-4-2) improved 5-0-2 in their last seven games and moved into fourth place in the WCHA. In losing for the fourth straight time, the Tigers (12-8-3, 8-6-3) fell to fifth place.

Stepan assisted on Ben Street's goal just 43 seconds into the game and on Brendan Smith's goal in the second. Stepan scored his sixth goal of the season in the first period.

Jordy Murray had the Badgers' final tally midway through the second period.

Joe Howe had 25 saves for the Tigers.
