Colorado highway authorities are putting up wire netting on the sides of Interstate 70 in Glenwood
Canyon to guard against rock slides.

The netting is going up about a month after some 20 rocks rained down on the highway, including a 66-ton boulder. The highway was heavily damaged, but no one was hurt.

Highway officials say the netting will hold small boulders less than 3 feet in diameter, but not larger boulders. Repair work on the highway continues and is projected to be done by mid-May.
