A dozen Colorado athletes are on the U.S. team for the Paralympic Winter Games in Vancouver March 12-21.

Winter Park alpine skier Hannah Pennington, who has cerebral palsy, is going to her third Paralympics. Pennington wasn't sure she'd make the team after undergoing a hip reconstruction and then another problem that left her unable to stand a little more than a year ago.

Pennington got off crutches in July and found out Friday she is on the U.S. team for giant slalom and slalom in the standing class. The 31-year-old says this will be her last Paralympics.

Other U.S. team members from Colorado include sled hockey team member Nikko Landeros, a former Berthoud High School wrestler who lost his legs in a car accident in 2007.
