Winter clothing drive begins Friday at 6 a.m.

With a major cold front upon us, Operation Warm Up is gearing up to take donations.

You can take new and gently used winter wear to the Cumulus Radio Media Inc. near I-25 and Woodmen. Everyone who donates will receive a freebies like a Chik-Fil-A biscuit, coffee and coupons.

Several radio stations will be taking donations Friday morning from 6-11 a.m.

The donations will go to Department of Human Services programs and be given out in December.

DJ Gina Kavali from 98.1 KKFM was moved to tears when asked about the importance of this drive. She emotionally overwhelmed the number of donations they received last year and hopes donations will be as plentiful this year.

"I didn't realize that all these families need our help and think about it... these families line up for hours, in the cold, in December without even a coat," Kavali said with tears welling in her eyes.

What: Operation Warm Up
When: Friday November 9th 6-11am
Where: 6805 Corporate Dr. Suite 130, Colorado Springs CO 80919
Donations Needed: New and gently used hats, coats, scarves, mittens, boots, gloves and toys
