Windy Friday, cold this weekend

A pattern change is in store for Colorado this weekend. As the trough nears Colorado on Friday
winds will increase. The higher winds will increase the fire danger Friday. Snows will really ramp up in the central and south western mountains of Colorado Friday and into Saturday. By the time all things are said and done late Saturday night 1-2 feet of snow will be possible in the mountains. Much colder air will move in Saturday afternoon. The coldest air so far this season on the Front Range will arrive for Sunday. Light snow will develop on the Front Range Saturday evening into Sunday morning. Snowfall accumulations at this point look to be light.

Friday Forecast:

Colorado Springs: Partly cloudy, windy SW winds 10-20 gusts to 30, high 66

Pueblo: Partly cloudy, windy SW winds 10-20 gusts to 30, high 71

Monument: Partly cloudy, windy SW winds 10-20 gusts to 30, high 62
