WINDSOR, Colo. (AP) - Gun-rights activists are expected to attend a Windsor library board meeting Thursday to protest the system's weapons policy.
The Rocky Mountain Gun Owners group is challenging the Clearview Library District's policy prohibiting patrons from carrying weapons inside the Windsor library.
The gun owners' rights group sent the library district a cease and desist letter on Friday. Library staff allegedly told a patron to leave on Aug. 20 because she was carrying a concealed weapon.
The library's code of conduct asks patrons to refrain from "carrying weapons of any sort except by law enforcement officers."
The gun owners' rights group argues the policy violates state law.
The weapons issue was not on the board's agenda, but the activists hoped the matter would be added.
