The gusting winds overnight aggravated a chimney fire and causing it to spread until it consumed most of a Colorado Springs family's home in Rockrimmon. The fire started at around 3:00 in the 6000 block of Red Hill Circle.
The fire department dispatched nearly 60 fire fighters and over a dozen vehicles to the scene. The home was a total loss but the family all made it out safely. One firefighter suffered minor injuries.
