Windows add transparency to El Paso Co. elections

The election process in El Paso County will have added transparency this year.

The elections office has moved to the new county building on Garden of the Gods Road. The new design includes windows where anyone can look into the rooms where ballots are verified, counted and totaled. It puts the whole process on public display. "They can verify for themselves that we're working to make sure that every legitimate ballot counts," says El Paso County Clerk and Recorder, Wayne Williams.

Ballots will be mailed October 11, 2011. Election day is November 1, 2011.
