Gusty winds across Southern Colorado coupled with allergans already in the are leaving many people with itchy, red eyes and runny noses.

According to the Williams Storms Allergy Clinic tree pollen is at the very high stage, while grass pollen is rated as high. The wind makes it worse because pollen on the ground is forced back into the air.

Weeds and mold did not show up on the allergy scale on Wednesday morning. Allergy sufferers are advised to use over the counter medications, or in more severe cases visit a doctor. For itchy eyes try over the counter drops containing ketotifen. Until recently ketotifen was only available with a prescription.
