Wind halting helicopter help for now at High Park Fire

High wind near the High Park Fire has grounded helicopters fighting the blaze for the time being. Colorado Emergency Management crews say winds are blowing 30 - 50 miles per hour in the area.

A Red Flag Warning for fire danger has been issued for the area of the High Park Fire and a lot of Colorado through 8 p.m. Sunday.

A mandatory evacuation was issued for the Hewlett Gulch subdivision Sunday afternoon.

Crews are still saying more than 55,000 acres have burned. The fire is 45% contained. 181 homes have been damaged or destroyed. So far, crews say it's cost $10.8 million dollars to fight the fire.
