At tonight's School Board meeting in Widefield School District 3 school board members voted to move sixth grade students to the junior high schools. The move will happen in the 2010-2011 school year.
According to the release from the district, the long-range planning task force made the recommendation.
The district says they'll be able to provide an improved and expanded educational program for junior high students this way.
They also say this will be more "fiscally efficient". Several of the district's elementary schools are nearly full, while the junior high's have plenty of space.
