Don't count the swine flu out.
The head of the World Health Organization says the worst of the swine flu outbreak is over in the United States. Dr. Margaret Chan also says Canada, Britain and some other northern hemisphere countries have seen the worst.
But Chan says many more people could get sick this winter. She said the flu is still active in Egypt, India and elsewhere.
Chan says health experts should monitor the pandemic for another 6 to 12 months. She said the virus could still mutate and become more dangerous.
The group says more than 11,500 people have died from the disease since the outbreak began in April. Between 250,000 and 500,000 people die from regular flu each year.
