DENVER (AP) - The Colorado Rockies have activated right-hander Alex White from the 60-day disabled list to start against the Houston Astros.

White was acquired from the Cleveland Indians in the five-player deal that sent pitcher Ubaldo Jimenez to the Indians on July 31. White was 1-3 with a 3.60 ERA with Cleveland before going on the DL on May 21 with a torn tendon on his left middle finger.

To make room for White on the 40-man roster, the Rockies transferred right-hander Juan Nicasio to the 60-day DL on Tuesday.

Colorado also placed righty Edgmer Escalona on the 15-day DL, retroactive to Saturday, with a right rotator cuff strain.
