Tech-enthusiasts, art-makers, garage inventors, performers, Do-It-Yourself-ers, scientists, culinary magicians, original musicians, robot builders, urban farmers and engineers will take-over downtown Colorado Springs this Saturday for the ultimate thinkers and tinkerers fest--the What If! Festival of Innovation and Imagination.
Haven't heard of the festival before? This is the inaugural event!
The day will begin with with a community-wide singing of "America the Beautiful" involving all six stages of the festival. Newcomers may not know that Katharine Lee Bates penned America the Beautiful after an inspiring trip to the summit of Pikes Peak. The Colorado Springs Children's Chorale will lead the community-sing on the steps of the Pioneers Museum.
Sean Anglum, director of PR for the festival said, "One more unique feature of the Festival will be the Idea Exchange Café, in the American National Bank Club Room on the Pikes Peak Center's Mezzanine. This location will invite Festival-goers to individual one hour forums to thoughtfully exchange specific ideas presented by various community organizations."
Check the event's web site for a complete rundown of events.
The festival runs 9 am - 6 pm this Saturday, in downtown Colorado Springs.
