Even with a cold front and a possibility for snow later this week in Colorado Springs, at least one man won't be wearing a coat. It's in the middle of ten days that he's going without a coat; trying to raise awareness for the people locally who don't have one this winter. Daniel Day says the Springs Rescue Mission has told him they still need 4,000 to 5,000 coats to give out. So he's taking collections through his 10 days of not wearing a coat.
This is all part of a bigger project; a blog that Day has been working on called 10DaysWithout.com. He takes a ten day stretch and tries to remove a necessity from his life. He's already tried ideas like not wearing shoes and taking away the use of his legs. Day writes about each topic, and encourages help for a related social issue.
Day has other ideas planned, but is also looking for more. To see the blog, click here. We'll have more on Day's idea, and what he wants to see it grow into, on News 5 at 5 p.m.
