Command of the Wetmore Fire burning in Custer and Pueblo Counties is now transition back to a local Type IV team.

According to officials the fire was inactive overnight, with no growth reported. The fire has burned 2,100 acres and is 95 percent contained.

"The fire this morning was just like we left it last night only colder and less active, " Craig Beckner Operations Section Chief said

The cause of the Wetmore Fire is still under investigation, although the Custer County Sheriff early reported sparking power lines was the probable cause.

While evacuations are lifted, the fire perimeter is close to all but residents and firefighting personnel.
