A western Colorado vineyard has installed solar panels that will eventually provide about 70 percent of its electricity.
Grand River Vineyards in Palisade has 144 solar modules. Vineyard owner Naomi Smith says the vineyard took advantage of tax credits under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
Grand River Vineyards produces 7,000 to 8,000 cases of wine a year.
Palisade is about 10 miles east of Grand Junction and 180 miles west of Denver.
