What If? A Festival of Innovation and Imagination

On September 15th over six square blocks of downtown Colorado Springs will be filled with "wows!" of all varieties. In 2010, and again in 2011, over 15,000 people of all ages, from all parts of the region, and from a wide-range of backgrounds and experiences came together for a day of innovation, imagination and creativity. 2012 will be the biggest and best yet! Our objectives are to...
•Shine the light on varied forms of innovation and imagination in our community. Show off cool people, cool businesses.
• Engage as many people as possible in a day of "wows!" together. Engage people of all ages in their own personally creative experiences. Celebrate together-share joy and aha's!
•Cultivate creative collaborations and relationships that connect our community. Foster more innovation, invention, sustainability ideas, entrepreneurs, and creators.

Co-sponsored by the Holly Berry House Folk Art Gallery, this nationally known event benefits the Ranch. Visitors will see the best of handcrafted folk art, from clothing to furniture, as well as antiques and live music. The Orchard House will be open for living history interpretation. Piecing Partners will have a quilt exhibit and a silent auction of their exquisitely made quilts and wall hangings. Buy a Living History Association (LHA) membership and attend at no cost in addition to free admission to most Ranch events for one year.

Come kick off All Pikes Peak Reads (APPR) with world-renowned author Margaret Atwood as she discusses her novel, The Year of the Flood, this year's APPR selection. Both paid and free options are available for her appearance at Shove Chapel at 7 p.m. on Friday, September 14. A book signing will follow her talk. Atwood is the author of more than 40 books of fiction, poetry, and critical essays. She is the recipient of the Man Booker prize for her novel, The Blind Assassin.
Paid Option - A Gala Reception with Margaret Atwood - 5 p.m.
Full access to the Gala Reception at Colorado College's Gaylord Hall. Ms. Atwood will mingle with ticketholders from 5 - 6:45 p.m. while guests enjoy organic wines, beers, and a full array of theme-inspired foods made with locally sourced ingredients. Enjoy our gourmet versions of Ms. Atwood's SecretBurger, Ren's Jolt Bars, Adam One's Sumac Lemonade, and Mo'Hair on a skewer!
