Weekend Is Not A Wash Out, But A Few Storms Will Continue

We made it not only to the weekend, but to SUMMER!!!! Ok, Summer doesn't officially start until a month from now, but once Memorial Day is here, we can start thinking it is. And it's actually really good timing because Memorial Day itself with be the day where our weather pattern changes and the heat starts to build.

Saturday and Sunday will be like the past several. We'll see pop-up showers and thunderstorms through the prime-time heating hours of 2-7 PM. The good news though is that the conditions have changed slightly so we're not expecting any severe weather - just general thunderstorms. But it doesn't mean we can let down our guard because heavy rain with any of these storms will be possible. Once the rain starts to develop, the temperatures stop climbing. You can expect highs this weekend near 70 for most areas.

Monday the pattern starts to shift. So this will mean an even lower chance for showers. We won't be completely dry, but I think if you have plans for outdoor activities you should keep them scheduled. Just know that you may have to move festivities under shelter for a few minutes if a storm pops up.

Starting Tuesday the temperatures really start to take off. And next week not only warms up, but the chances for rain are gone.

Happy Memorial Day... Meteorologist Valerie Abati
