Wednesday weather is a lot like Tuesday

Our stagnant, slow-to-change weather pattern persists today, which means our Wednesday will be a lot like our Tuesday. Little, if any, change is expected through Saturday.

Today will be mostly sunny with spotty thunderstorms developing in the mountains west of I-25. One or two of those thunderstorms will be able to move out of the mountains and into western Colorado Springs. While a stray shower is possible, nearly all of our area east of the mountains will remain dry this afternoon.

We will be unseasonably hot, too, with highs today ranging from the mid-80's near Monument to near 90 around Colorado Springs and Fort Carson. Near Pueblo and Cañon City, highs will be in the low-to-mid 90's, while the Lower Arkansas River Valley and Southeastern Plains will top out near 100 this afternoon. Expect lower 90's around Walsenburg and Trinidad.

Our broken-record weather pattern will come to an end after Saturday. A low pressure system currently off the Pacific Northwest Coast will move through, bringing rain and cooler air beginning Sunday.
