A mix of sun & clouds will continue through today, with just an isolated shower possible.
Most areas will stay dry this afternoon as there isn't any big trigger mechanism in place to start showers/t-storms. There's still a decent amount of monsoonal moisture, but we get more of it for Friday than today or Thursday. So the better chance for rain this week will also come Friday afternoon.
Temperatures today will stay seasonably mild. This means low 80s for Springs, near 90 for Pueblo. The temps continue to drop a degree or two Thursday and Friday before a small rebound on Saturday.
We are watching two things that will affect our weather. First will be the jet stream late Thursday/Friday. As the strongest winds in the atmosphere move over top of Colorado, this will be our trigger for more showers & t-storms this week. The other system is a storm coming out of the Pacific Northwest. This system will come through Sunday. This will mean more showers the second half of the weekend, but sandwiched in between, Saturday looks fairly dry.
Enjoy your Wednesday... Meteorologist Valerie Abati
