Monday morning around 8:00 am a website and hotline supporting the Recharge Colorado campaign went live, but soon after both were experiencing problems due to high traffic volume. The Governor's offices says consumers should keep trying until they get through.

The program offers homeowners in Colorado up to $500 in rebates for buying new energy efficient appliances. The Governor's Energy Office is using American Recovery and Reinvestment Act money to offer $18 million worth of rebates. The Governor's office says that should be enough for about 75,000 rebates.

The Governor's office says consumers have to get through on the website or by phone to secure their rebate before buying an appliance.

The Governor's Energy Office is providing updates on the status of the hotline and rebate website on it's Facebook page.
