TODAY: Excessive heat and excessive fire danger again! Record high temps likely for Colorado Springs, Pueblo and Denver! (Just like yesterday) Winds today will be breezy at times, especially around the Waldo Canyon Fire. Winds there will be variable and at times gust in excess of 25 mph. Winds in Colorado Springs are expected to be from the south/southeast at about 15-25+ mph. There is a slight chance (20% or less) of a thundershower or two possible over the mountains/Teller County and Western El Paso County later today. Storm will probably produce more wind than rain. RED FLAG WARNING again from NOON today until 9 PM tonight that includes TELLER and EL PASO COUNTIES! Hot...drier weather is expected the next several days!
TONIGHT: Like last night...temps will cool down, but the winds will stay a little more active! Winds could stay up around 10-20 mph and gust to around 30 mph at times. Not good news for help things calm down near the fire zone.
MONDAY: Extreme heat and extreme fire danger continue! A little breezy again with winds that will fluctuate during the day in many different directions. Temps tomorrow will be at or near record highs!
TUESDAY: Very hot dry weather yet again as high pressure keeps us sizzling. Skies will be mostly sunny most of the day with almost now chance for storms.
WEDNESDAY-FRIDAY: Temps will drop just a little by later in the week and the chances for storms will come up 'a little' by Wednesday. Storm or two possible over the mountains and foothills by the end of the week.
Thank you fire fighters!
