50 turkeys. 45 pies. 200lbs of mashed potatoes. It's an ambitious task to cook a Thanksgiving meal for 800 guests. "I've been cooking turkeys for the past 5 days," said William Muldrew, head chef at the Wayside Cross Gospel Rescue Mission in Pueblo.
The Wayside Cross is preparing food for it's 24th annual free Thanksgiving Day meal at the Union Depot. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. "Invitation is for everyone," said Michelle Sandoval, Wayside Cross Acting Director.
"Obviously the folks that may not be able to afford a meal, but also the people that may be home alone, or couples that just don't want to prepare a big meal," said Sandoval. "The food will be fabulous, the company will be great, it should be a good day," she added.
