Water main work on Union Boulevard

It will be slow going on northbound Union Blvd. for the next week.

Colorado Springs Utilities crews will be working to replace an 8" cast iron water main with a new, high density plastic pipe starting Wednesday at 7 a.m.

Two through lanes will be closed on northbound Union Blvd., from Garden Ranch Dr. to Academy Blvd.

There may be periodic and temporary interruptions to water service in the area. Scheduled, non-emergency interruptions will be communicated to affect customers 24 hours in advance. If you have cloudy or discolored water during the project, Utilities recommends flushing your water service using an outdoor spigot for 15 minutes.

Utilities also want to remind drivers to slow down in work zones. If possible, try to avoid that portion of Union Blvd. during high traffic times.
