Water main break causing issues in Colorado Springs

Colorado Springs Utilities is reporting a water main break on N. Chestnut St., off of Garden of the Gods Road. They say part of Chestnut (south of Garden of the Gods Road) is closed. Eastbound Garden of the Gods Road will have lane restrictions during repairs, so traffic might back up. They're asking people to avoid the area if they can.
Springs Utilities tell News 5 no water service interruptions are expected; repairs should last between 8 and 12 hours. Utilities say the break happened on an 8-inch cast iron pipe that was installed in 1963; they say age is a likely cause.
