Washington's Farrar takes Stage 1

TELLURIDE - The first stage of the 2012 USA Pro Cycling Challenge is in the books and American Tyler Farrar of Wenatchee, WA will wear the yellow jersey.

Posting a time of four hours 42 mintues and 38 seconds, Farrar (of team Garmin-Sharp) bolted to the front in the final 100 yards of the 125 mile road race from Durango to Telluride to an unchallenged win.

Italians Alesssandro Zazzana and Damiano Caruso finished second and third.
Stage two begins Tuesday at 11:25 a.m. in Montrose. It's a 99.2 mile race to Mount Crested Butte.

There will many steep Category 3 climbs including a final 2 mile climb to the finish.
