We will see a quick rebound in temperatures tomorrow and through the weekend. However, don't get used to the warm temperatures as we have another chance of snow headed our way.
Mother Nature played along nicely with snow totals this morning. Generally, reported snow amounts were in the 1" to 3" range. (See the higher totals above)
We will see a cold night tonight, as we will have clear skies and snow still on the ground. Lows will drop to the single digits to teens. (Colorado Springs: 8° | Pueblo: 6°) Also, watch out for some patchy fog early this evening. With temperatures below freezing, the fog could freeze on contact with surfaces.
By late morning Friday it will be hard to remember it is winter. Temperatures will quickly rise after 10am under near 100% sunny skies. Highs will get in to the middle 50°s to around 60°. (Colorado Springs: 56° | Pueblo: 60°)
Temperatures will continue to warm through the weekend. Expect to see highs topping out in the upper 50°s to lower/middle 60°s both Saturday and Sunday.
COLD AIR RETURNS
For several days computer models have been hinting at a cold front sweeping through the region late Sunday night/Monday morning. That is looking more and more likely as we get closer to the weekend. As of today, temperatures look to be in the 20°s Monday afternoon.
Computer models are also suggesting there could be more moisture with this system as compared to last night's. A two computer model average suggests 0.23" of moisture for Colorado Springs and 0.18" for Pueblo through Thursday morning. Most of that moisture would fall Monday in to Tuesday morning. Temperatures will below freezing so this would fall as all snow. This is something we'll continue to monitor over the coming days. Stay tuned! - Meteorologist John Dissauer
