Warm Thursday, a colder weekend

Very warm weather for this time of year will continue into Thursday. A large trough will begin to swing into the mountain west on Friday. This trough will crank up some mountain enhanced snow to the central and southern mountains of Colorado. The heaviest snow so far this season is possible beginning late Thursday night and continuing into the weekend. Some areas of the central and southern mountains could get well over a foot of snow. The trough on the Front Range will provide us with a windy day on Friday. The wind will increase the fire danger. Colder weather with light snow will move in later Saturday. The coldest day on the Front Range is forecast to be Sunday.
Thursday Forecast:
Colorado Springs: Sunny, light winds, high 70
Pueblo: Sunny, light winds, high 76
Monument: Sunny, light winds, high 67
Teller County: Sunshine, light winds, high 66
