Warm, Gusty Saturday

It has been a warm afternoon with temperatures climbing in to the 80°s and 90°s.  There will continue to be a chance for a few isolated showers and thunderstorms over extreme southern and southeastern Colorado from Las Animas County to Baca County.

Expect to see mainly clear skies tonight.  Temperatures will remain mild overnight.  Lows will drop to the 50°s.  (Colorado Springs: 55° | Pueblo: 57°)

Temperatures will remain warm Saturday.  A cold front will try to move in to the area from the north late afternoon/evening.  There is a small chance a few showers and thunderstorms could develop ahead and along the front.  Because of that, I'm going to include a 15% chance for thunderstorms in Colorado Springs.  Humidity is expected to be low, so rain falling out of thunderstorms may struggle to reach the ground.  Lightning could be a concern with any thunderstorms that develop.

High temperatures Saturday will climb to the 80°s and 90°s before the front passes.  Winds will also be gusty at times, especially late morning and through early evening.  Winds could gust 40-45 miles per hour.

RED FLAG WARNING

The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for parts of El Paso County (along and east of I-25).  The warning will be in effect from 11am-6pm MT Saturday.  - Meteorologist John Dissauer
